Construction Manager

OVERVIEW: A Construction Manager in the construction industry is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a construction project. Their role is crucial in ensuring that the construction process is executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide guidance, managerial, and technical support to complete the project team.
• Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff.
• Coordinate with the design team on all aspects of the design.
• Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed.
• Supervise, develop and mentor project staff, if applicable.
• Supervise review and coordination of submittals and shop drawings.
• Manage and lead MEP subcontractors throughout the duration of the project (from Groundbreaking through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner).
• Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
• Oversee the performance of the general contractor, site manager and other members of the construction team.
• Managing both internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime, such as poor planning designs, and government policies, which directly or indirectly affect the project.
• Research and identify industry and market best practices and techniques to implement into project.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 10+ years minimum of relevant work experience managing multiple construction projects including 3+ years of working experience as a Construction Manager is required.
• Time Management – organized, set priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task and a Team player.
• Ability to be reasonably on-call as necessary to support the ongoing 24/7 operations of our clients which may include evenings, weekends and some holidays.
• Effectively leading and managing project teams, collaborative and motivated work environment to achieve project goals.
• Bachelor’s in Civil or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant.
