Senior Electrical/ELV Engineer

OVERVIEW: A Senior Electrical/ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Engineer in the construction industry is responsible for overseeing electrical systems and ELV systems, which include low-voltage technologies such as security, communication, and automation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Developing, reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving electrical design plans and work schedules.
• Assists in the development, review and approval of construction plans, including goals and objectives, work breakdown structure, detailed scope descriptions, detailed schedules, risk management approach, milestone descriptions, budgets and staffing requirements.
• Manages, expedites, and supports consultants’ and construction document submittals, budgets, and schedules.
• Acts as a subject matter expert regarding some electrical engineering activities.
• Prepares engineering scope documents, exhibits, budgets, specifications, schedules, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Leads or assists with investigations of electrical-related issues, including root cause analysis as needed
• Managing a team of ELV engineers proficient in ELV systems and on-site building practises.
• Responsible for regular site visits to ensure installation standard is satisfactory.
• Liaising with clients and other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
• Establishing relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, other professionals, and expanding networks.
• Participating in conferences, events, and networking and learning opportunities.
• Analyzing existing processes and scheduling meetings to discuss improvement initiatives.
• Validates system functionality by executing the operational checklist in order to ensure that each equipment is working properly.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 10+ years minimum of relevant work experience managing multiple construction projects is required.
• Time Management – organized, set priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task and a Team player.
• Ability to be reasonably on-call as necessary to support the ongoing 24/7 operations of our clients which may include evenings, weekends and some holidays.
• Proficient in advanced design tools, Strong leadership and mentoring skills, innovative thinking for solutions and technologies into electrical and ELV system.
• Bachelor’s in Civil or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant.
