BIM Lead Engineer

OVERVIEW: A Building Information Modeling (BIM) Lead Engineer in the construction industry is responsible for managing and overseeing the implementation of BIM processes throughout the lifecycle of a construction project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Creating detailed construction drawings that include all necessary information for manufacturing and installation, such as materials types and quantities required.
• Conducting physical site visits to assess potential construction sites and identify any potential hazards or issues
• Communicating with clients regularly to ensure they are satisfied with the progress of a project.
• Analyzing building plans to identify areas of concern, such as building code violations or structural problems
• Shall develop Building Services design solution working in close collaboration with Architects, Structural Engineers and other design team stakeholders.
• Assist in establishing and setting up new projects with the relevant file structures and adhere to all agreed BIM standards, BIM Execution plans etc.
• Assist with establishing project teams and resources. Utilise, create, where necessary, and manage project specific families.
• Project delivery, development of discipline specific engineering calculations, carry out modelling duties, co-ordinate with modelling teams and ensure full integration of modelling information with other disciplines.
• Production of all engineering calculations and drawn information in the appropriate format to meet project timescales.
• Undertake self-checking initiatives whilst maintaining quality control of junior engineers works and ensure adherence to all relevant design criteria and standards.
• Developing the technical capability of the existing staff, advise on and give training, assist with continued development and respond to technical queries.
• Manage the implementation of discipline specific software for BIM/Revit design development.
• Work with the Building Services Management team to implement company processes and improve working practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 10+ years minimum of relevant work experience managing multiple construction projects is required.
• Time Management – organized, set priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task and a Team player.
• Ability to be reasonably on-call as necessary to support the ongoing 24/7 operations of our clients which may include evenings, weekends and some holidays.
• Exceptional expertise in utilizing BIM/Revit software for the creation of detailed construction drawings, project coordination, and integration of modeling information across disciplines.
• Bachelor’s in Civil or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant.
