MEP Projects Manager

OVERVIEW: A Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Projects Manager in the construction industry is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and successful execution of MEP systems within construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor project budget and schedule and oversee performance to ensure on time, quality and on budget project execution.
• Provide guidance, managerial, technical support to complete project team.
• Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff.
• Coordinate with the design team on all aspect of the design.
• Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed.
• Supervise, develop and mentor project staff, if applicable.
• Supervise review and coordination of submittals and shop drawings.
• Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to the MEP trades
• Manage and lead MEP subcontractors throughout duration of the project (from Groundbreaking through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner)
• Approve and provide material and equipment for MEP systems prior to installation
• Monitor the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of project with Engineer & Owner
• Research and identify industry and market best practices and techniques to implement into project
• Manage the whole MEP Project from execution till hand over to the client.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 10+ years minimum of relevant work experience managing multiple construction projects is required.
• Time Management – organized, set priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task and a Team player.
• Ability to be reasonably on-call as necessary to support the ongoing 24/7 operations of our clients which may include evenings, weekends and some holidays.
• High level technical expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, plumbing systems and ability to manage relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
• Bachelor’s in Civil or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant.
